Does anyone have tips on how to recover a stolen laptop? The cops were not able to recover any fingerprints, and I know they don't have time to be dealing with petty theft, so I'm trying to take the initiative.
I've tried calling pawn shops (pretending to be a buyer, looking for the model)
I've checked eBay- although I think that's a less likely destination because it's probable that this thief doesn't have internet access.
My next thought is to find somebody/someplace that would wipe a hard drive for some random person who brought a stolen laptop in- (this laptop was password protected and therefore of no use to someone with absolutely no computer knowledge.)
Or maybe a shady used computer place?
What am I missing? What else can I try?
