After weeks of fine-tuning, this is how my time table actually turns out. Wednesday will be packed with lessons where I have to run all over school. Tuesdays and Thursday will have a compulsary 2 hr class from 4-6pm. Other than that, I am practically free to do whatever I may need to do.
Projects at hand : IS Strategic Planning Proposal and Project Management Phase 2.
The latter is the sucks. No one feels motivated to do it at all. That egomaniac comes down so hard on everyone, its difficult to stand up when you are pockmarks all over your body after a presentation session.
You know life is sucky when the choices boil down to choosing between playing Badminton or finishing up my part of the proposal. Anyhow there are still activities to look forward to at the end of the week, like Sentosa and hopefully, yet another race to participate in this sunday. But toil on we must. There are a lot of activities going on this weekend if you look at it, however I may be culling some of the activities, since I dont really want to catch J too much, all I really want to do right now is to catch a movie though. Doesn't matter which, just as long as its funny. Especially after the tense sunday of racing, something fun and relaxing is due.
Half tempted to call Brandon up and ask him about patenting ideas that may or may not develop, but I do suppose it is a bit of jumping the gun. Wonder how much it costs.
I read with interest an article in Today which suggests that consumers still tip the wait staff even though they are paying a 10% service charge. Perhaps many may think that the 10% service charge goes to the wait staff anyway, but pretty much anyone who has worked in a service line can safely tell you, in your wettest dreams baby. The 10% service charge, always goes to the company and the staff don't even get a whiff of it. The only thing about good about the job is when someone leaves a tip. It makes a world of a difference. To hell with service charge, lets go for tipping. At least the people who deserve it get the money.
The sun seems to be shy today, I think I shall just work out at home and go for a jog later in the night. Did a quick 3km last night but didn't really feel like I was in it.
Movies I want to catch
======================
a)Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
b)The 40-year old Virgin
c)Dukes of Hazard
d)The Brothers Grimm
On a good day, all of that will cost about $30. Manageable I guess, since I don't go into shopping frenzy that often. Catch a show with me today

The SMRT challenge was rather forgettable, came in 4th place seconds behind the other team, if they had been more marshalls around and enforcing of the demerit point system, we would have at least gotten something. The organization was piss poor, props to Geog Soc for organizing two Island races in the past 2 years better than how a professional event management company. We were talking to the SMRT's Communications Director, pleasant lady who had 3 daughteres, after the race on how it can be improved. That event management company "Positive Events" kinda sucked.
Feels like I am being especially long-winded today but its to make up for the lack of posts so do bear with it ;)
Computing Club now feels like a graveyard, other than those who have to toil on endlessly in the club, the club was empty during the afternoon. I haven't seen it so devoid of life since.. oh wait, I have never seen it so devoid of life. Anyhow, my friends were all curious about the extention of recruitment deadline for this year, apparently not enough people signed up for the various posts. Afterall with the vision of the new president coming into place, its not that friendly a place anymore. I am even wondering if the panelist discussion on friday is worth going to when that president is chairing the session. We'll see.
After years of trudging through the various difficult projects and semesters where deadlines were every other day. It really prepares you well for the final year because nothing seems to fazes us the year 4s anymore. We wont even panic if the deadlines is coming or have any qualms over long grueling meetings because it is just accepted as a fact of life. Maybe I am just lauding IS because I am in the IS stream but it really prepares you well for the outside world. You get a fair share of empirical studies using surveys and using statistical tools to analyse them. You get a good idea of business concepts, accounting, management techniques, change management and you even learn about employee's psychology. You also learn to deal with different types of group mates, because you have seen so many over the years. All this while you are also equipped with the technical know-how to develop applications. It does seem like the best of both worlds, or is it. I kinda like being a TA, I wouldn't mind if I had the chance to do masters and be a TA though. Maybe I should consider that as a career path?
During the project meeting yesterday, a phone rang and everyone looked up, wondering who's phone it was. Turns out that it was my new ringing tone that I ripped from Adeline's mobile phone when I connected with her, erm, mobile phone. It sounds pleasant but I am not used to it yet.
Update : The sun was playing hide and seek, just as I was about to reach the swimming complex, the clouds were all over. Shall try to soak and tan on thursday instead. Michael also tried to put together a last minute badminton session this evening, but it was not to be. I was even prepared to go back and get my gear. Oh well, next week then.
Board Games Cafe on Thursday! Oh and this just came in, we are going to Salsa classes from this friday onwards.
