It had to start some time . . .

Well, kids, it's my last week of work, which can only mean one thing . . .

All nighter time!

It's totally self-inflicted, though. I, in all my stupidity, am trying to do way more than necessary to disprove a certain professor's statement regarding how I would be an embarrassment to the school. As a result, I'm totally overwhelmed with things to ( Read more... )

Well, I can't say that it's directly your fault, but I'm listening to Yes right now. Because I realized that, as I was drying the dish (due to my emotional problems), I was singing Roundabout out loud. Whoops.

Hope to see you soon, sugar-bear!

Which is funny, because I don't even have a blue box!

I bet that blue boxes in Holland aren't blue, but brown! Or should I say, "bruin"?

As a matter of fact, both metals and plastics aren't recycled here! Thus, no blue box! In the fair town of Venlo, garbage is in a black bin (picked up every two weeks - yuck), compost is in a green bin (also picked up every two weeks), and paper is picked up once a month in the classy way of throwing them on your front porch.

One would expect, though, that there would be brown somewhere along the line . . .

W-w-w-wait a minute. You're trying to tell me that Holland-pot-smoking hippie commune give-criminals-a-running-start Holland-doesn't recycle? That's effed. At least they compost, those granola crunchers.

And I thought it was weird that here in London garbage pickup is every eight days! (Then again, that's weird in and of itself because you never have the same pickup day.)

I dunno, I think London is the champion for weirdness. 8 days is effed.

I think that what they do is separate the metal out after the garbage has been picked up. They also burn it here, because they don't have room for landfills. Heck, they don't even have room for dead people, so they dig up the bodies every 30 years to make room for the next guest.

That's depressing. How are your long-dead relatives going to be re-animated as zombies if they're removed after thirty years anyway? Way to go, Holland.

PS: No one at work found the pie picture funny! I'm so upset!

Really? That's sad. Maybe if it was something about "save your fork! There are unseasoned potatoes!" it would be good?

Unseasoned potatoes mashed with unseasoned carrots. And a boiled chicken.
