Red as my Sunday dinner

Greetings, friends

All is good here in the land of civil servants.  For those not in the know, I'm working at the National Research Council's flight research lab doing research with night vision goggles.  Now, it doesn't sound very design related, but it is surprisingly helpful.  I'm learning a lot about how to do proper human factors tests and getting doors opened for doing my masters down the road.  And I get to wear night vision goggles, so how can you go wrong?  The thought of me doing research on behalf of my country is quite laughable.

I'm going to get to fly in helicopters, too.  And they teach me to fly it.

Do they realize that it's me they're talking to?  The biggest gimp in the history of gimpdom?

They'll soon find out.

I feeling very creative lately.  Maybe that's what happens when you don't have to create on command.  Luckily, as an outlet to this unexpected creativity, work's asked me to redesign the paint job on a helicopter.  In their future, I see kittens crying rhinestones on the side of every helicopter.  So what if the employees are 90% male.  A little frou-frou never hurt anyone.

My albino tendencies came out in full swing today - was out in the sun early in the morning without sunscreen, and came in as red as the scrumptious lobster that we had for dinner last night.  That(the sunburn, not the lobster), coupled with the shisha on Saturday (daniellegrace + others) means that I've had a cancer-rich weekend.

Heather Lynn is married.  That is crazy.  What was even crazier was the second bachelorette-stravaganza held last week.  Bless the girls (nestea_addict, laurgx, and missquirt to name a few) for making the evening incroyable.  I thought I ordered a virgin . . .

And cheers to lumley for a jovial champagne shindig - you have done Queen Victoria proud.  I salute thee for so many reasons.

Must be off - have to budget for the summer.  If I don't, I'll continue to spend all my earnings on frivolities like black velvet paintings and mail order grooms.
