Tales of London, Backdated entry

See, I dated this for the day I got back, but I ACTUALLY am writing it in late April. So the details may not be fresh in my mind. However, I wanted to kill some time before Karazhan.

Moving back in time, me and Megan spent a day or two back at her flat, doing much as we had been before the Salisbury trip. I discovered that a lot of British streets look alike and did get lost by myself at one point. Anyway, on Thursday, the day of our journey to London, I discovered a new disaster, and by disaster I mean monstrous inconvience for me. Megan's 85 pound suitcase had broken it's wheel (I suspect the 85 pounds it contained could be involved). Of course, this meant she wound up carting along my functional 10-15 or so pound suitcase, while I literally dragged her 85 pounder across England. English streets, like a lot of other things that I mentioned, are generally old. This means rough and/or uneven. This means dragging this suitcase was one of the most frustrating experiences of my trip. I really hated that suitcase. Further, it is a pretty big suitcase so it was hard to find a way to fit it in on the train. Also, the ground by the station in Hull was especially rough and troublesome to drag an 85 pound suitcase across. However, we did eventually, after dragging said suitcase across a connecting train station or two, make it to London King's Cross station, which is actually a really nice place. Rather than drag said suitcase across London trying to find the hotel I had arranged for, we promptly flagged a taxi. As it turns out, the hotel was across the street, on the other side of a restraunt. Was worth it not to have to drag that suitcase an extra block though.

Once in our Comfort Inn room, we settled in and began deciding what to do with our evening. I suggested we start with a walk around London, which we did. We found a most excellent pub, and had the first good food that I'd had since I arrived in England. We then went exploring checking out a number of different shops around London. We almost went to a production of Spam-a-lot, but it turns out Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of those movies that Megan has never seen, so it seemed a little pointless. After an enjoyable evening exploring Covenant Garden, we went back to the hotel, and rambunctious cuddling ensued.

To be continued later with the next day and tales of Manchester
