SHOULDN'T I BE SLEEPING AT 5:30 A.M. IF I'M RETIRED ?

Oct 28, 2009 06:03

What the @$^&&^%$.... am I doing up at this hour, especially since here in Alaska
the sun will not peek over the mountains until about 9 a.m. or a little after. this has
been one of those night when I went to bed about 11:30, woke up thinking well I
really slept good last nigh, must be time to get up, look at clock, 1:00 a.m., lay and
listen to relaxation tape back to sleep, wake up look at clock 2:45 a.m., now I am getting ticked which only serves to wake me up more. Okay lets try the little self hypnosis
exercise a phsycologist  (sp) friend taught me, alrighty it is now 3:30, I am relaxed
AND STILL WIDE AWAKE, aha take a muscle relaxer, what the heck take 2, I feel that
wonderful dozey snuggle under the cover and sleep feeling finally. AWAKE AGAIN
clock check 5:20 a.m. I give up, so here I am writing stupid stuff in LJ  that no one
ever reads except me.

Well once again I think this latest round of antibiotics my have worked, at least for
a little while. I was reading back over my previous postings and all the way back
in July of 2008 I was writing about  how sick I was, at that time I had pneumonia
and was trying to get rid of it before having my knee replaced. Now here it is Oct.
2009 and I am again fighting this crap, in fact I have been battling it about every
2 months, now the Doc says it is COPD in the form of Chronic  Broncitis . Let me
tell you this stuff is no fun and this go  round really knocked the crap out of me
I cannot remember the last time I felt so bad, over the last 5 month I have been on
so many different antibiotics I can't even name them all, one of them they had me
take 3 a day for a full month. This one I am on now is Sulfa based so far so good,
I just finished my 10 day run and other then feeling like someone whipped me
I am doing better, at least not coughing until my ribs feel broken. Dr. Raymond
whose opinion I value very highly says he is curious to see how I do while I am I
am in Ca., especially since I will be there in the winter when it is cold, damp & foggy.
He says that he has watched me get this stuff more and more frequently over the
past 4 years and is worried that I may be one of the many people that have a hard
time living in Ak. year round, the temp. here in Homer is Spring = very cool to cold,
summer = cool, Autumn = cool to cold & winter = very cold to colder. It is weird
because the first 3 years it didn't seem to bother me, but for this past year, I have
just never been warm and never really been well and the two combined equals a real
bummer. Okay time to get off the pity pot, there are so many people with much
more serious problems then me.
On to the exciting news, one more month and I will be with my kids and grandkids.
I am so excited, the last time we were together for Christmas was in 2004. I am one
of those people that is an absolute Christmas freak. best thing we get to celebrate
the birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ which is the real highlight of and the
real "reason for the season", and I get so excited about reading of the story from
the book of Luke about the birth of Jesus with the family on Christmas morning.
I also am a decorating addict as is my daughter Jenn, she makes that and shopping
so much fun, she is my bargin finder, I kid you not, the girl has built in radar for sales
and that is both before and after sales, she is ambisellstrious (new word).
My other daughters De & Steph bought a home last  year right before Christmas
but with moving etc. they didn't get a chance to decorate...that will be corrected
this year. I am counting the days til I get there.
Time to bring this to a close, think I will try to sneak in a little nap before the sun
comes up.
