OUR SHORT VACATION
Well Russ & I took a few days off, it was great. First night we spent in a little town called Soldotna,
we did Dairy Queen drive thru, swam in the pool for awhle, set in the hot tub until I was almost to weak
to walk back to my room, then we watched "Curious Life Of Benjamin (sp) Button". (as soon as I figure out if I really liked it as much as I think I did I'll let ya know). Anyway on into Anchorage the next day
to Dotties house, she is absolutely one of the sweetest and most unique women I have ever know.
87 yrs old and runs down her hallway and does Karate kicks to loosedn her back up.
Went to Alaska State Fair on thursday, bypassed on all the rides, ditto for the games. Hit all the cool
exhibits, Rain Forest= BIG snakes, Piggy Races (giggle), love those little guys. Saw some of the wierdest flowers, and OMG there are so many different kinds of Dahlias (sp), next the animals, I love the babies, watched baby chickens peck out of the shell, poor things so pooped by the time they make it.
Of course had to go to the giant veggie display, biggest pumpkin 595.4 lbs. , Cabbage winner was
125.7 lbs. Saw some really good shows on the free stages, ate some junk but not alot , Cheesecake in a cone rocks. Friday was shopping day, manicure and haircut day out for nice early dinner.
Saturday Dottie and I hit the yard sales, found a few treasures, back home on Sunday, still trying to recuperate. Now the waiting begins as I count down to the trip to Ca. to see my babies, the big ones
and the not so big ones. I can hardly wait
