The window
How many times, Angel looks at the life of the people he loves, while he is hiding behind a window?
he too will be allowed to live life, not only as a passive spectator, but as the real protagonist? When?
..and what it means to be a better man?
"All this time I've spent trying to find redemption saving the world..
when maybe I should've just been trying to be a better man."
..into morning just another day
Happy people pass my way
Looking in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
How happy you made me,
Standing on the edge of time
Walked away when love was mine
Caught up in a world of uphill climbing
tears are in my eyes

I'm pretty sure we will not see Natalie again, (what a sin)
But I wish that one day, Angel became grandfather :)
..this is true immortality. Living in time through its descendants.
Maybe this is the only "Shanshu" which will be granted to Angel.
A human lineage.
and the sons of Angel will be walking on earth, centuries after his death

I don't know if I'd call it a reinvention. I read Last Gleaming and said, "It looks to me like this is what Angel was trying to do." I mean, I don't see the Angel I know leaving EVERYONE IN THE WORLD BUT BUFFY to die. He was trying to create a new paradise and bring people over. He didn't expect all hell to break loose before he was quite ready. That, to my eyes, is in there, in the story that Joss wrote. So in that sense, I guess it was Joss' idea, but I think it was always there, not a reinvention. And the line about Buffy being worked up was a bit of a joke. I think Angel didn't bother explaining it because it didn't matter...he could see by that point she wasn't gonna go for it, and probably rightfully so because so many innocent people would die, so he said the hell with it.
but really was no need to ask this? is not clear that Angel is laughing?
