I am so unbelievably, incredibly, undeniably and undeservedly blessed. I've got fabulous friends, a wonderful family, a healthy body and amazing opportunities.
It just hit me all this week that I've barely spent a moment alone because so many people love me that they're all excited to spend time with me. That is why I am insufferably arrogant. I went down to ISU to visit my best friend, saw my aunt in an amazing play called Grace and Glorie and then went out drinking with her afterwards, saw a great comedian/musician with my dad, went out to a karaoke bar with Sheena where a cute boy bought me a drink and another cute boy danced with me, then everybody - Sheena and Natalie and Nick and the two cute boys - all sang "Birthday" for me. I judged a speech tournament for home schooled kids on Wednesday and Thursday. Allow me to reiterate - it's been an amazing week.
And tomorrow, Abby comes back to campus, and I'll have my other half back.
This term, my classes are Voice and Movement (took it freshman year, am helping teach it this year), Advanced Fiction, Advanced Nonfiction (which I don't need to take for my major but I LOVE the professor), Gender and Art (with Sara Eaton, whom I love), and History of Ideas V. I didn't make any of the spring shows but with the professor who hates me and my ex-boyfriend doing the casting, I can't say I was very surprised. Besides, it means I can work and make a lot of money for Europe. Plus, one-acts are at the end of the term, and those are my absolute favorite part of the year. Nick has already agreed to be my audition partner. Excellent!
Also, I've converted Katie Clark into a Browncoat. She watched the entire season of Firefly and Serenity in one day. We watched the pilot one night, and I sent her home with my DVDs. I come home from work the next day and I've got an IM waiting that says she's watched the whole thing. BAD ASS.
Also, I movie-marathoned yesterday with Nick and Steve, and it was amazing. We bought tickets for Inside Man (which could have been a good movie if it had been an hour shorter, Jodi Foster and Denzel Washington played their characters differently and Spike Lee had not directed it), then went to V for Vendetta (which ROCKED) and then into She's the Man which was surprisingly funny. Afterwards, we went back to the Townhomes, heated up frozen pizza, ate some fudgsicles and I fell asleep watching Kinsey.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful life.
