Unfair

The dude called me 4 hours early for my telephone interview and my bladder was very, very full! It also didn't give me enough time to use the internet to find out as much about the guy as I could. I like to do this so I don't have to listen so hard. I get nervous and my ears repel what people tell me.

Sounds like an intersting postdoc though! Pay is crap and the cost of living in Oxford is large, but hey, I'd be in England! So it is a bit odd because I've been talking to one dude at Oxford, we'll call him Sam. Then today I talked to another guy, Tony, who used to be Sam's boss (I think). Well, if I work for Tony, even though he works for a pharmaceutical company he's still affiliated with Oxford and so I'd be stationed in Oxford. So, both postdocs are at Oxford. What's weird is that if I work for Tony both Tony and Sam would be paying my paltry salary. If I work for Sam, only Sam pays. Each postdoc involves totally different work.

So now I'm curious. If I work for Tony I'll be doing stuff for the pharmaceutical company (I think). Wouldn't I make more money if I were stationed at the pharmaceutical company?? Maybe they don't hire postdocs. Seems weird to me.

Oh wellsies. They didn't offer to fly me out there, but if I express interest they will invent the job, advertise it, interview me, and hire me. I guess that's how it has to be done.
