Obligatory Christmas Post

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to update you all on my cold status. I'm not sick and it didn't develop! :) Either I didn't have a cold, or the collodial silver and 24 straight hours of rest (most of it sleeping) knocked it out before it even started. :D Yay. my mom's sick now though so maybe I was sick and I gave it to her... she can't figure out how she got hers since we hadn't left the house during the incubation days.

Saturday night we opened presents. This year we decided that we wouldn't spend a lot of money on presents or buy any fpr each other, Blah blah, whatever, we didn't really want anything for Christmas, not like when you're a kid and you want this and THIS and that and you'd LOVE this and excitement! and everyone else felt sort of the same.

So we opened presents Saturday, nothing big but I think my mom wanted everyone to have something to open for Christmas.

What I got:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory DVD
Digital Camera. (both from my stepdad)

And that's it. :D My camera can only take like 17 pictures and most come out blurry (it's probably me) but hey, it's a digital camera! The DVD is the fullscreen version, the type he likes best whereas I'd always much rather have the wide screen and see all of the movie. It's a movie I asked for months ago though and I already took off the plastic wrapper with the price (I didn't take the stickers holding it closed off yet) and it's rather bad taste to ask for the reciept to a DVD you wanted when you only got 2 presents anyway so I'll just watch it and enjoy. :) I'll probably end up getting the wide screen version anyway because someone (probably distant future kids) will end up breaking it or we'll have a new 8 track video CD DVD format disc thing in 10 years. XD

Let's see... I got my mom some socks (which she loved) and a picture frame before we decided not to buy gifts this year so I gave them to her anyway, unwrapped. XD I bought with my brother this wonderful $100 coat/jacket for him back in November (we got it for like $35) and two oil infused vegetables bottle thingies for Christmas so he lucked out. (I gave them to him early) He got some kitchen knives to open for Christmas. My stepdad got two DVDs that my mom picked out and my mom got Friends Season 10 and a pair of headphones (we've been having computer speaker problems).

So that was Saturday. Sunday we all got up and went to church. They only had Sacrament meeting today without Sunday school or whatever that third class is called. I went with my family since the Singles ward actually had a combined meeting with their ward because they use the same building (at different times) and my family goes to the regular ward so I got to sit with them. My mom played the organ as usual.

Afterwards we went home and I made myself a burrito. XD Then we went to see Chronicles of Narnia at the movie theater. :D I usually don't choose to go to the theater on Sunday but it was Chronicles of Narnia so I figured it'd be okay. XD It was a good movie, I was SOO glad that it seemed to be so close to the books. THANK YOU! But I read the books... like 9 or 10 years ago so I don't remember anything, that probably helped. The movie didn't convey the real sense of magic and amazing wonder-awesome-world though that the book did; It didn't pick you up and carry you away completely in the feeling, it was just a story, but it was still good. I thought that the children were closer in age though. And I maybe noticed some minor things but it's been so long that I read the book I don't know for sure. I felt that the beginning was charming. I'd like to see more of the series being put into movies.

And now I want to reread the books. XD My BROTHER gave them away to his friend years ago to read though so I can't just read the ones we own. He didn't give them away he just let him borrow them so we're in that awkward position of not needing to buy new ones but not possessing the ones we own. XD Ah that's okay, I'm patient. I bet my stepdad ends up buying a new set anyway, he wants to read them.

After the movie we had Christmas dinner, just mashed potatoes and stuffing and a Turkey roast and umm Cranberry sauce and string beans. For desert we had a two layer angel food cake with real whipped cream and fresh strawberries and raspberries.

My brother, stepdad and I finished the Star Wars Monopoly game we started almost a month ago. XD I LOST! I was the first one to be bankrupt and I got so annoyed at my brother for it! He put cities on all his orange properties while everone else had maybe 2 settlements so I had to pay him $1,000 one turn, and $1,400 the second turn (yes I landed on them twice) and when he laned on MY properties he had to pay me like $16 or $100! Grr... after I got bankrupt I think everyone was really tired of the game so James was declared winner. XD I don't really like Monoploy, but I got it for my birthday Oct 30 so we had the obligatory game.

And since I have a digital camera now:

My Workspace!

I took this at night, no flash. I'm still learning how to use the camera. XD

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you what my friends got me. Well Russell was over last week and he gave me a Shigure key chain. :D Lissa stopped by and gave me a Ravenclaw scarf! Yay! Isn't she thoughtful. :) I bought some Greg Oslen art cards to give to Emma next time I see her and some for Sheena.

I was SOO bad this year, I didn't send a single card to anyone!!! SORRY JESS-CHAN!!! You'll get one late, XD In the middle of January. And I so haven't written to Michelle for like ages. Ack! I still have her Birthday card I haven't sent. ;_; I'm a terrible penpal.
