The Exception..(Or not)
there's a saying that goes, "plan for the worst, wish for the best"
but it is not in our nature to do so.
to ourselves, we may not get the best, but we reckon we will never get the worst.
the exception of the worst would never belong to us while we may be the lucky winner of the best... or so we thought.
take the SARS incident for instance..we might have a bit of flu, but we doubt the possibility of SARS, let alone think we could die from it.
If the exam has high failure rate... we would hardly think we would be those unlucky ones who failed, but we could have been the lucky top scorer.
just because the chances of meeting an eclipse in a lifetime is low, doesn't mean you can't see one.
just because you see true love all around you, doesn't mean you will meet one
it's good to be optimistic, but it's harmful to be blind by it.
like how the slogan goes, "low crime (rate) doesn't mean no crime"
and so i say to you, low chance doesn't mean no chance
