ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Finally! The first weekend since college began where I actually had a genuinely good time. And who did I spend it with? Justin, Matt, Vince, Finch, Logan, Abbas, Daniel, Alex Butla, Tom, Pat, Lizzie, Elise, Jared Allen, and some others, like Forest Steve. Yeah, I should be making new friends blah blah blah, but this weekend was awesome. Friday night I stayed in town to go to the McT pasta party with Hank. We laughed really hard at everything. I don't know what it is about Hank, but the world is suddenly extremely funny whenever he's around. Then I did the Spring Hill thing (for once!) and hung out with a couple of my new friends and we went to see Vanity Fair (don't see it, by the way). Came back and hung out in the hall for awhile because there was more drama going on. Drunk girls. Potato chips. All over the floor. Stupid girls.

Now onto the good stuff. Justin & Vince came to pick me up around noon and we went to Matt's house. Justin had a huge map of Alabama i his car. (I got to be the navigator.) The only time we got it out was when we were trying to find the way out of Matt's neighborhood. Road Trip 2005! (Everything is a video game to you, Vince.) Matt eventually took over as navigator because I'm just plain incompetant. I got a nap in. Then Vince and I acted like 5 yr. olds in the back seat. He bought a pack of gummi teeth. The greatest invention alive.

When we got to Tuscaloosa, we made jackass comments about every person we saw. Judging them and sizing them up and whatnot. Yeah, that's right. I'm better than you. Arrived at Finch's, ventured to Alex Butler's, got crunk, looked for tickets in the quad. Matt had 2 tickets right next to each other. Justin bought a ticket on the upper level and Vince bought a ticket really far away from us. Nicely done. So it ended up that Matt & I sat together for the first half, and Vince and Justin sat by themselves. I was scared for Vince. He sent me a text message saying that he couldn't speak straight, plus he was alone. We were probably going to have to pick him up at Lost & Found by the end of the night. It sucked that Justin was on the top level because the only (legal) way to get on the lower level where Matt & I were was to go outside the stadium. There wasn't any room next to us anyway, so we made him stay put. The first half was great. My first Alabama game. Justin promised me that it was impossible to not become an Alabama fan. He was right. I never thought I'd hear myself scream ROLL TIDE. But I'm glad I did. At halftime, Matt had a mission for me. It was just like 8th grade when we rode our bikes everyday and made up Mission Impossible missions. I was going to find an empty spot in the top bleachers, climb over the wall (in a skirt, of course), stealthily walk to the far end of the stadium, go up the spiral, and rendezvous with Justin somewhere on the upper level. The only hard part was the skirt. Though they seemed cool about it, I'm pretty sure I flashed the whole family of people sitting at the wall. It was worth it, though. I got to sit with Justin and watch Alabama kick some Ole Miss ass.

We met back up with Matt & Ben at the Phi Delta Theta house. McT reunion. Then, after 7 wrong turns, finally found Howard's house where the real party was. I skeezed some of Pat's whiskey and Howard's hamburgers. Daniel & Abbas did face plants in the cake. (I got some good pictures.) Forbes drunkenly reminded us all that Justin is his boy... about 50 times. Abbas taught me a thing or two. Elise walked the line test. And we all just chilled.

When we got kicked out, we walked to 12th & 12th where we saw Tom, Jessica, Patty, Kyle, Lauren Cowan, & Stuart (my co-worker.) Lauren & I talked for a good while. I guess that Williamsburg friendship wasn't a fluke after all! Eventually walked to Guthrie's. That was one of the more memorable parts of the night. Abbas wanted to hold everybody's hand and tell us how much he loved us. Vince sat on a sprinkler. Forest Steve made out with his chicken fingers at the biddings of a drunken stranger (who was actually VERY cool.) Abbas continued to school me on the proper "head" techniques. Roll Tide. Piggyback rides. Heart to heart with Abbas. Saw Merritt Courtney.

Back at Finch's, we looked at pictures, laughed at some of our own drunkeness, and then I got raped. That's what I get for being the only girl in an apartment with all guys (aside from the 2 that live there.) The raping wasn't all that bad though. Finch turned the lights off, so that made it that much more special. A few people stayed up and talked politics. I opted to go to sleep (if I could find a way to ignore the "ying yang twins.")

It seems like everyone woke up feeling pretty bad this morning. I had some laughs at their expense. We tried to help Abbas recount the events of the previous night. For example, the fact that he seemed to have intimate conversations with all those he came into contact with last night (i.e. Merritt's boyfriend: He shook his hand for a long time, then sort of took him aside and talked to him for a few minutes. About what, I guess we'll never know.) Once the LSU kids left, Vince, Justin, and I climbed into bed with Finch. He was just begging to be spooned. I don't think we intended to stay for long. But we ended up falling asleep as we spooned each other. It was quite nice. When we were about to leave, we realized that Justin's car was blocked by a huge truck. There was a space to get through, but it only gave a half inch of room on either side to get through. Half the apartment complex came out to witness this feat. I attempted it. I was in the car for a total of 20 seconds and made 2 mistakes: trying to put it in Reverse, I put the windshield wipers on, and trying to put it in drive, I put it in Reverse. Man, it's been awhile since I've driven a car. We let Justin take over as more people came out to watch. Just as he was about to seriously scratch both cars, the owners of the truck strolled up. How convenient.

Anyway, long story short. Waffle House. Picked Matt & Ben up at random house. Looked like hell. Went 130 mph. Feared for my life. Good thing I slept through most of the way home. "I've never been in a wreck!" (knock on wood...) Finally made it back safe and sound. Let's do it again.
