Life death and office parties

Dec 08, 2007 12:38

Haven't posted for a while so thought I probably should.

Life:- Going well. I'm loving the job to bits, now on a team that gets to handle one of the spangly new projects and my advert curator role is as bitching as ever. I'm meeting tons of ace new people that I would happily invite to my house and ultimately all is well. If I can just find a hot guy to run errands for me (the official job title of a boyfriend) then all would be perfect.

It's also christmas soon which is never bad.

Office parties:-

The xmas work party was fantastic, apparently not as good as last year, but better than my previous work parties. I also got to camp it up on stage as Ali Din in the office panto, with a dodgy turban and all. It was such good fun, and even though we were screwed over a little by the venue the company seemed to enjoy the show which is good.

I had a little bit too much to drink, but no where near as much as most (or some people, you know who you are) and really enjoyed myself. Got to chat to half the office and some of the other office, the bigwigs are quite funny when they're not work-related. I learnt some interesting things about people I never realised or guessed and had a good laugh with my teammates about some juicy juicy gossip, it was all ace.

Everyone else went out later into town. I was tempted to go but then realised if I had poor old Paul would never have made it home. I also sobered up fairly quickly for several reasons and my sheer exhaustion kicked in. 4 hours sleep for the last two days is not conducive to heavy party going. Still I'm sure we'll have another office outing soon enough, and I may even stay later that time.

All in all life is good.

Nostalgia however is kicking in a bit recently. Krista reminded me of all the stuff we used to do back in Bradford and it made me 'homesick' for everyone back there. I'm half tempted to come back up to bradford for a couple of days, hire a hotel room and then just hang out with people and spend the day sat in pubs eating good food and marvelling at how sinister Krista's characters can be. I may do that in the new year when my birthday comes up.

I still have to decide what to do for my birthday, might ask around work if there are any decent gay-clubs or dance halls that I can go and boogie. I know there's karaoke, so I might try and bully people into that. Failing that I could just invite a bunch of people back to mine for booze, take away and silly roleplaying.

We shall see.
