CHAPTER 3
Back to the present……….
Kei acted like nothing happened as if it was just a part of a fairytale with no “happily ever after”. When her friends asked her about not seeing Yuya, she would just shrugged her shoulders and continue doing her work busying herself with lots of things. Yuya was the first guy her parents knew and even if they were against about their relationship, she continued seeing him. She became a disobedient daughter. you might say it’s a part of an adolescent being a rebel but for her meeting and loving him was the one thing she won’t be able to give up even if it means defying her beloved family.
Most of their friends who knew about the break up shut their mouth, no side comments, violent reactions, questions or blaming of whose fault it was but respected the silence from both parties. But sometimes there are those people insensitive enough making stupid remarks,
“Hey Kei! I’ve seen Yuya entering the campus I thought he’s with you” Keito shot daggers on the tackless, hyperactive, ADHD, stick like Yuto. Inoo ignored him by excusing herself due to some matter she needs to attend for their school festival while Yamada threw him a deathly glare.
“Hmmmm…….Guys I think I’ll go ahead the vice president is already texting and calling me for a couple times now so…. I better get going that menopausal baby has mood swing you know, ja matta ne!” they didn’t take Keis’ excuse, they didn’t even hear a single beep from her phone but sensing the awkward atmosphere letting her go was the best solution.
“itai!!! What was that for Yama-chan?!” rubbing his pained head.
“You’re so tackles at times Yuto, I though Hikaru’s the only one who can’t read atmospheres but I think it’s communicable coz you got a hard strain of it, thanks to you Kei-chan acted weird again.
“WEIRD??? She’s acting normally as what I’ve seen and she’s always busy like before.”
“That’s the point! You’re not supposed to act normally after a horrible breaking up; you’re supposed to sulk, cry, depressed, isolate or shut yourself from society not acting like nothing happened. Pretending normally that you’re okay compared to the one who’s crying is more dangerous.” Yamada have witnessed the love of Kei and Takaki and how they overcome life’s challenges together in every step of the way. So the breakup was a shocked to everyone.
“Really?! What if she tries committing suicide?!I’m so sorry……… me and my stupid mouth.” Yuto felt guilty but he didn’t know, it was just an innocent statement without intention of hurting somebody else.
“It’s okay but next time try to be more sensitive. Kei needs friends; we should support here not adding insult to the injury. Keito’s the most silent member so hearing this means something.
On the other hand Kei was walking without direction; her mind was clouded of Yuya. It’s been a month since the breakup and 2 months was the last time she saw Takaki. She’s wondering why Yuya’s here and the other part of her, hopes that the reason was her but from an instance her hopes shattered into pieces. She saw a girl clinging in Takaki’s arms while walking, they were headed in her place. She took a deep breath, walk straight and pass them. Kei walks with a poker face, no expressions just cold, empty eyes. At first Takaki didn’t recognize her, one week after the relationship ended, Kei decided to replace her long, straight black hair with a curly one adding bangs to cover her forehead as well as half of her eyes.
Kei never thought, the reason why Takaki left her was because of her senpai. She came from a well-known family like her and currently the reigning Miss Teen Japan. It made her self-esteem depleted and all the pain rushed like a flooded river. She’s not okay and never will be.

Yehey!!!! Meet me up at the shopping mall near your school around 5 PM; I’ll wait inside the book store. See You!!! ^^.
Kei was excited in meeting Yuya, it’s been 2 weeks the last time she saw him. Classes started already and Yuya still needs to transfer his things to their dormitory. She arrived at their meeting place a little bit early so she busied herself on reading the newest novel inside the bookstore not noticing that she had finish reading the entire book. She checked her watch; it’s already 5:30 on the afternoon. Then she pulled out her phone for any message but there was none.
“Maybe its traffic, I’ll wait for a couple of minutes more” distracting herself with other book but her mind is now disturbed of her boyfriend.
Another half an hour has passed but still no sign of Takaki. She tried calling him but transferred to a voice mail box.
1 hour……………………………. Nervous.
2 hours……………………………….. Nervousness, hopelessness, and paranoia overcoming.
Kei never felt this down before, tears flow down from her eyes and she went out alone from that place.
“He ditched me.” Lifelessly went home, immediately closing her room, slumped to bed and cried the whole night.
