Summary: Inoo Kei is well known to be the most devoted student, loving daughter and a caring friend, a perfect creation as what other people would say but never did Inoo imagined that having a Takaki Yuya will make her forget of who she is.
Chapter 1
“Haven’t he called you yet?” it was her best friend Chinen Yuri asking her the same question almost every day.
“It’s been a month since he last called and he’s not picking the phone when I tried calling him. He’s not returning my messages….may…mayb-b…..maybe…. he doesn’t want me anymore.” She started sobbing as the words came out with difficulty.
For the past weeks Kei felt miserable, no news about her boyfriend, Takaki’s not calling her and she can feel that he’s being cold on their relationship…somewhat like tired. She though if there were instance if she became demanding to Takaki or she made him felt suffocated on their relationship but there was none.
“Kei-chan stop crying, maybe Yuyan has a good reason for not contacting……” actually even Chinen is struggling to rationalize his cousins’ actions.
“Chii I’m tired of waiting, I’ve been a good girlfriend to him……never did I demand attention, time or even love from him. I’m contented of what he gives me but……………Keeping me hanging on something….. wondering if this is still working makes me frustrated to madness!!! You know how much I love your cousin.”
“Let’s just wait a little bit more and don’t be stressed look at your face, ewwwww…………. You’re not beautiful anymore. Anyways!!!! You should be ready for the party, Yuto and I prepared something for you.” Chinen though that by changing the topic is the best way to divert Kei’s attention from her problem and making the atmosphere lighter she smiled to her best friend and started dragging her outside their school

“Huh? What party are you talking about?” Kei abruptly stopped walking and faced her with a questioning look
“Don’t tell me you forgot!?” Chinen gasped exaggeratingly putting both her hands to cover her mouth with wide eyes.
“Forgot what? C’mon Chii…. You know I hate suspense and surprises so spill it” Kei has no clue on what’s happening. All her attention was about Takaki, thinking what’s happening to their relationship.
“Kei-chan it’s you’re birthday two weeks from now! We already agreed to have your party in my Ryu-chan’s resort right?” Chi was disappointed at the same time pitied Kei on how her best friend was affected with her cousin’s stupidity that she even forgot her own birthday.
“Oh yeah right it’s my birthday……….it slipped into my mind but I don’t feel like celebrating”
“No! We already prepared everything I even asked Ryu-chan to close the entire resort on the duration of our stay which is more or less 1 week.” Stated as a matter of fact and she won’t allow her best friend to ruin everything just because she’s down actually she needs this break to relax and freshen up, you might also call it a short time of escaping from her problem.
“God Chii! What have you done? You’re making Ryu-chan do a big favor and it’s their family business. They will lose a large amount of money by just closing for a day!”
“Correction it’s not a family business but Ryu-chans’ he even said that he’d rather lose everything that to loss me in his life.” Chinen was giggling while telling Kei what Ryutaro told him. Her boyfriend could be sweet if he wanted he just prefer to be quiet and snobby but not to Chinen. She makes him feel the luckiest bastard born on earth by having Yuri returning his declaration of love.
“You got spoiling boyfriend brat! You’re lucky to love one another” suddenly she felt her face wet with her own tears. Crap! She’s crying again and she said she’s tired of it. Chinen who saw her tears hugged her tight a possible giving her security and comfort. She knows it’s not enough coz the one Kei needs the most is not there.
“Kei-chan, stop crying already maybe Yuyan has his own surprise for you that’s why he’s not answering your calls or messages.”
“I don’t want to talk about him Chii, I’m really tired of thinking all I want is to rest…….C’mon let’s go shopping I forgot to buy puffball his shampoo and a new dress.”
“Great idea I have to buy a new dress too and shoes!” Pulling her again and bouncing from one store to another like a squirrel.
A week before Her Birthday……….
It was an ordinary day for Kei eyes plastered on the books she’s trying to read. After a couple of hours reading, she went down stairs to get some snack and when she went back, she heard her phone ringing and immediately grabbed it after recognizing the tone. Her heart jumped with joy and excitement knowing who her caller is.
“Hello? Yuya! I’m glad you called I was getting paranoid on what happened to you. I miss you so much! How have you been? Did you receive my messages? Don’t do that again you made me worried I nearly tried going to you school even if you told me it’s not allowed. Hello Yuya? Are you still their? I’m sorry I Just misses you…… Yuya?” the silence made Kei a little nervous and the atmosphere from the other line is not helping at all.
“We need to talk Kei, I know it’s better to talk you in person but I can’t so I have to tell this from here” Yuya’s voice was not the same full of love but with coldness and boredom.
“What is it?’ that’s all that came out but Kei have anticipate what will happened next.
“I wanna break up………I’m sorry but I think it’s the best for both of us.” Kei clutched her chest after his assertion no words can described the pain she’s feeling right now. All she wants is to instantly disappear to a place where emotions do not exist, free from all the heartaches and miseries.
“Don’t you love me anymore?............. Are you sure about this?”
“Yes and I’m sorry.”
“If that is what you want then its goodbye” she threw her phone somewhere not caring about the gadget and she didn’t try on crying anymore coz she felt sick with it. She walked towards her bed pulling her favorite stuff toy hugging it tightly seeking for comfort curling like a baby and slept.
“So much for my happy ending.” and drop of tear escaped from her eyes.
