Another 90 degree F day, so I spent most of the day in the back & front yards, sitting & reading my book. Even though I was in the shade 99% of the time, I still manage to have a heat rash on my arms tonight. It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow, but that's what the forcasters said yesterday. I'm not complaining, I'm just looking forward to cooler temperatures.
The Parking Enforcement lady came back today and put another ticket on each of the abandoned cars across the street.
I saw a woman riding by on a bicycle. Well, I don't know what you'd call it. It had 5 wheels. There was a padded chaise lounge on two of the wheels, then the handle bars and seat with one wheel under the handle bars, then a cart on the back with the other two wheels. I don't know how she turned the contraption. When she reached the corner, she went straight. A little later, there was a tricycle (one wheel under the handle bars with a cart behind with two wheels. This was ridden by an older woman wearing a big white shawl over her other clothes. Then a young woman in Spandex on a sports bike rode by with opera on full blast. I think she was singing along, but I'm not sure. At that point I started looking around for the Candid Camera! Unusual.
In the back yard, Harry was mowing the lawn. He takes breaks every little while, so I took a chair out and joined him. There was a lot of wind today and we love to watch all the big trees around us swaying in the wind. It was so nice to sit out there together and "solve the problems of the world". He also secured the Y-shaped branch in the circle on which the Dipper Gourds will grow. (We hope). I could have helped him with that, except the branch was in the sun. Of course he could do it alone and did. We saw a large yellow & black butterfly. I saw one later also, so I don't know if it was the same one or a different one. No matter. It was beautiful.
Earlier in the day I puttered around upstairs, watering, organizing empty pots, throwing away small bags of garbage. I uncovered a book about cactus that I'd forgotten about.
We had pork & beans & hot dogs for lunch, and Harry really appreciated having fresh Cilantro on his portion. I cut one stalk that was starting to bolt.
I'm grateful for Harry
I'm grateful for the beautiful day
I'm grateful for good health
I'm grateful for Family & LJ Friends
God Bless
