I'm lying in bed, reading my book in preparation for sleep, when Pepe decided to announce his presence outside the window! So-o-o-o I came flying out of the bedroom, shutting the door behind me, and decided to visit LJ for a while. I believe this is the first visit of the year for us. We don't get as excited about skunk visits as when we had a dog

Because of the heat, we have the bedroom window open with a fan in it. I don't know exactly where he sprayed, but since I was in the bedroom, the smell was strong coming through the window. I've never been sprayed, myself. I can't even imagine how terrible that must be! We used Nature's Miracle on the dogs, and it worked; not great but all right. The really bad time was when the poor dog got sprayed and came all the way through the house looking for us to help him. The smell stays in leather long after nothing else smells, so I had to throw away some shoes and a purse.

I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, in Spokane, Washington which is on the east side of the state, about 30 miles from the Idaho border and equidistant from Canada and Oregon. I love that wherever I look I see trees.Our heat is not humid at all unless there is a storm. My husband is from Tampa, so I've visited a couple of times. I'm so sun sensitive that I had to stay indoors while there,but that's OK. I'd rather travel via TV or computer anyway.
