Kind of a lazy day today. Wandered around the yards, just looking at everything. Smelled the lilacs. Pulled a few weeds around the Peony bush and tied it up. It's in a tomato cage, but some new branches always escape. There are lots of small buds. It's on the west side of the back yard. I'm happy to explain, Wilhelmina. My son Steve (who will be 50 in July) has myotonic muscular dystrophy. Simply, it's when his muscles slowly stop working. He uses a special machine that gives him oxygen when he sleeps. It was the doctor that monitors his breathing functions that we saw on Monday. Steve lives by himself in an apartment house. A wonderful angel of a care-giver comes to his apartment 3 times a week to help him shower, clean his apartment, do his laundry, etc. He walks around his apartment with a walker. He has 2 cats, "Cuddles" and "Stuck Up", who use a self-cleaning cat box. He has a motorized wheelchair and can take a special bus to go to his doctor's appointment. He lives close to downtown and likes to go to the movies or eat out sometimes. Many wonderful people help him stay independent by coming to his apartment to take blood tests, deliver his medicines, give the cats medicine when needed, etc. I take care of his finances and make sure he gets the things he needs to make his life as comfortable as possible. He has a very positive attitude, and never complains. I plan holiday meals so we can eat at his apartment. Sometimes his sisters can be there too, and we all have a good time. We talked to his sister on Mother's Day via Skype from his apartment and also attended her wedding via Skype. I thank God every day for my precious son and all the people who help him. I'm so happy you had such a wonderful birthday. You deserve it! God Bless
