So there are obviously other places I'd rather be on a summer Monday afternoon than where I am now. But that's the price I pay for slacking off in Algebra II.
Seriously, you never know how sick you get of your school until you've spent a day there in the summer. I am never doing this again. I have to spend 3 hours in each class and I'm also forced to eat the Board of education's idea of lunch. I feel like I'm in jail, or boot camp.
And the thing is, the only reason I'm here is because me not doing my homework has FINALLY caught up with me. It took quite a few years, and I thought I could run away from it, but now I'm stuck here.
Oh, and here's how the School District bribes their students. There's an optional "Lab" portion of this program that runs from 3-5. We're all in the library with the ten million computers and invisible books. We can't go out of here once we came in. That's right, we're all forced to stay in here until 5pm. We can't go out to eat, it's questionable whether or not we get bathroom breaks, and... well we can't go out to eat! I want pizza!
Now, since it's optional, some will wonder, "Well, why are you guys there?"
We're getting paid.
Minimum wage. Each hour for two hours everyday we come.
That's more than what I'm making, which is ZIP, ZERO, ZILCH. But I'm definitely wondering if it's worth it.
Most(is it all?) of us are on the computers, but the filter on here is INSANE. You can't go on YouTube, FaceBook, MySpace, FanFiction, even LiveJournal! And they have restrictions on certain words you can search on search engines. However, we, as 21st Century teenagers, are obviously more than capable enough to hack through these filters, and as far as I can tell, the school board either doesn't know about it, believe it's a hoax, or don't know how to block it. HAHA!
But that still doesn't change the fact that annoying, patrolling teachers are walking around like they can actually do something; I have my loud, burping friends sitting behind me; there's a guy sitting next to me rappin' Lil Wayne lyrics, another person's looking up Wet Seal clothes, and someone was just playing a go-go version of Rihanna's "Take a Bow"! Why??? I like that song.
A beneficial thing about this is that due to my additional computer time, I'll finally start to post entries moren often- which is good, because I usually post every few months.
Oh boy, this is gonna be one interesting month, man. I just have a feeling that this might be interesting enough to be worth it.
Hopefully...
