Drunk Dials=Awkward Conversations

May 25, 2006 09:59

So last night at B-Dubs got crazy for me. I didn't plan on drinking that much. Hell, I only spent 8 bucks. I order my usual whiskey and coke, then I meet up with Mike at the bar. He buys me a Bass. So after talking with him and drinking that, he buys everyone at my table a Washington apple. Tasty little shot. Mike, overall, is a good guy. The kind of guy you would want on your side for everything, and he's very cool about it. Anyway, after that, Big Josh buys me a Flaming Dr. Pepper for some reason. That went down a little rough. And later he comes back with a straight shot of Jaeger. Was it all someone's plan to get me really drunk? I slaughtered "Harder to Breathe", sang "Wild World" for two of my favoriite ladies, and listened to "Me and Bobby McGee". I love how specific songs can do certain things to people.

On my way home, I call someone. Not a good move. I'd been talking to this person the whole night. There's been a strange past between us, which, now that I think about it, I can say that for most of the girls in the theatre department. So she answers her phone, and I was expecting voicemail. We talk for a bit (basically me rambling), and then hang up. I call her back and got her voicemail (she knew I was gonna call again). I don't know exactly what I said, but I'm sure I regret it. Not what I said, but the fact that I said it. It was poor form on my part for the fact that I don't know where she is on certain aspects of her life.

But that's digs on how my life goes. Good night ended with my awkward failings. Thanks to Mike for quenching my thirst, Steph for singing, and everyone else that stayed here this summer.
