I know I promised you all more information on my trip to Canada.
The trip itself turned out to be quite short. Got the link configured and working the first day we were onsite. Stayed the night, ironed out the last few kinks that we could the following morning, and left by around 2 PM. We made it back to New Hampshire that same day (7 hour drive or so).
So, I didn't really see much of Canada itself or the town. Though I did notice some interesting things. It seems that the Canadians have a propensity to use black signs with neon lettering for their business advertising. I saw quite a number of these signs on the hour and half drive to our destination (Saint John, NB). Another item of note is what they call the "pedway". It's a series of tunnels and building interconnects that allow you to travel through most of the city without setting foot outside. It was really quite nice.
On more local news, the neighbors hired a nursery to plan/landscape our front yard. They brought a number of plants and a huge mound of mulch. Then Saturday, the neighbors and friends arrived enmasse and performed the actual landscaping. Mind you, Saturday was the hottest and most humid day we've had this year. It was nearly 100F and (though I didn't actually check the weather report at the time) I'm guessing nearly 80-90% humidity.
More work has been done in preparing the no longer needed systems. Most of the drives have been securely erased, hardware adjusted, and many have already been reloaded with the current Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) release. More details on this will be posted as I finish preparing the systems and decide exactly what is going and what (if anything) is staying.
