Iowa Stubborn

Wow. So most of the places of my childhood and college years are under water right now. I am in Wisconsin, and in the middle of moving to LaCrosse. I'd rather be home helping as I could, although a friend pointed out there is not a whole lot I could do there anyway.

Still, my whole extended family is in Cedar Rapids, my Dad lives in Waterloo, my brother is police chief in one river town, and my Mom's job got flooded out. And Iowa City will always have a peice of my heart.

For all of you back home trying to make it through this my thoughts and prayers are with you. For now at least I guess that's all I have to give.

Still, I have to say, I am impressed with all the Iowans I have seen in the news and in articles. Laughing and smiling while sandbagging. No whining, no complaining. Just straight forward saying what should be done and then doing it. It makes me proud that my home can present such an appearance to the rest of the nation. However this ends, we're Iowans. And that's saying a lot.
