Just sitting around

Drunk people broke my dvd drive and now I can't play the sims. I am working 39 hours this week. I deserve to play the Sims. Oh well, no sims, but at least I shall make some lovely money. Work sucks. The manaquins in the Jr's department don't have heads. They have regular bodies, and aluminum pipes for heads. Like creatures from a horrible sci fi vision of a post industrial future. I don't know why, but they bother me more than words can express.

13 days and counting until it's back to school. Should be a happy fun Monday for a change.

So anyway, I am in the mood to tell the story of my first real bar adventure in detail. It doesn't make a bad story in my humble opinion.

So we start our story in line to get into Brothers, where I say repeatedly, "I can't believe I am doing this." (ala "This is not safe". My adventures always seem to come with a mantra, or however you spell that.) So we get in and nothing. So we order drinks and stand by a post. Wild times. we drink, we stand, Then the girls ask me to dance. I do so... for forty five seconds. Then I realize I can't dance. I leave the floor and decide I am not having fun. So for my next round I order a shot and chase it with a screwdriver. Then I talk to Sarah. I still can't dance and the smoke bothers me. So I wait outside. Later we leave. That was the boring portion I guess. I wasn't too happy at this point.

Off to Studio 13. All I knew of the "alternative lifestyle bar" was that it was a good place to dance and grope. Now being a bad dancer and not interested in being groped just then, I was not looking forward to it. we get there and have to pay cover, then another shot, chased with lemon water this time, and another screwdriver. (Next day, worst hang over ever!) Smoke and strobes bother me, wo I went outside. This guy walks over and ask me about my pants (the red leather ones). He asks where I got them and if they were really leather. Then he asks to touch them. I never thought I would be running to get into Studio 13, but I did. When I get back I order another screwdriver and get left at the table to watch the drinks while everyone else dances. Since the liquor kicks in and I am not having fun, I start to cry. Then this nice gay boy offered to strip for me. I shake my head and mutter something about having a boyfriend over the loud music. He takes his shirt off and dances in front of my chair. I start to laugh in spite of myself and do a little dance while still seated. Then my friends come back and the nice boy and his fella wander off. I tell Sarah, "I was feeling pretty depressed until the nice gay boy offered to strip for me." Late in the evening, last song, I dance. I think there was another screwdriver in there somewhere, because I was actually not thinking I was doing so badly at it.

Then we gather our little group and head with our drivers back to the cars. Beth and I lay in the grass talking, except for on breif episode where we hugged some light poles, while the other drunks in our group had this crying hugging circle going on, and the drivers try to make us get in the cars. We do, and they take me home and head off into the night. After breaking my computer, of course.

I had fun. More at Studio 13, I think, but it was all about company, not location, I guess. I can't say I would never go again, but given the cost/benefit ratio I will not be a regular downtown. I suppose the Brothers part of this story wasn't amusing. I thought the Studio part was pretty good, but I may be alone there. So anyway, that was my first really night out to the bars.
