Happy New Year, 2011!

Okay, so I have some really big goals to meet this year. The biggest being moving away from the Grant and living alone. I've never done it. I'm both excited and terrified. I won't be totally alone since I have Bailey Jane, my rat terrier, but there is still the whole "Jamie likes to freak herself out at night for no good reason" thing to work on. BUT! I have huge plans for my apartment. The kitchen will have black and silver appliances (because that's the type I like). The living room will be nerd heaven. I have this great idea to do a Warhol-esque wall hanging using TMNT masks from Halloween. My DVDs will reside there--as well as my Wii and TV. I'm hoping to buy a big, new one this year as well. TV, that is. The bathroom will be girly as fuck. Bright feminine colors, jewelry boxes, and make-up by the boatload. The piece de resistance will be the bedroom where I will finally have my goth cave. I don't think I'll paint the walls but everything will have that darker edge I love so much and so often have to repress. I'd love to have a canopy bed with dark diaphanous drapes and string my purple lights about the room. There was this beyond lovely coffin couch I found online yesterday--it was also beyond expensive. But DAMN! it was pretty!

Secondary goals are to get in better shape and get a car. The apartments are right behind the restaurant so I can walk to work. Kroger is just down the street and there is a coffee shop right in the plaza with the restaurant. One of my friends mentioned us being work-out partners so I would ride with her to the gym. And another girl from work is supposedly moving into the apartments as well, so that would take care of dry-cleaning and errand-running. *fingers crossed*

I'm extremely hopeful for the new year and the experiences it brings.
