Wow, I haven't made a post in over a month. I suppose the time is right to post a little update for those of you that I don't get to see regularly.
As you might guess, the main thing that has been going on in my life is wedding-related stuff. Most weekends, Terra and I have been involved in something related to the wedding: cake tasting, meeting with the caterer, lots of stuff with the invitations since we so wisely decided to make them ourselves. They actually look pretty darn slick. Terra's folks are coming over today and we're gonna address some envelopes. Good times.
I'm also happy to say that I've been keeping busy with various cartooning / illustration projects. I helped design a bunch of cartoon characters for an old friend of mine named
Jack Norton who is a vaudeville-type musician. They are trying to develop an act for little kids, so I did a bunch of character designs for some animal musicians for them to use in their promotional material: Olo the mariachi donkey, Penelope the bass playing possum, and Curly the banjo playing fish. We have plans to maybe do a coloring book or a comic book using these characters. I have also done some political cartoons for a social security educational group call
For Our Grandchildren, and one for the website of a lady named
Tammy Lee who is running for congress in Minnesota's 5th district, with plans to probably do a few more before election time. So not only am I getting to finally learn how to put cartoons online ( which will be helpful if I ever get that Web-Comic up and running ) I am actually getting PAID to draw cartoons.
Oh, and of course this last friday was
terrakaycpa's birthday! Since she never really posts much these days, if anybody wants to send her a birthday wish through my journal, I will be happy to send that along.
