Way back when...

Today, I found an old electronics store sales paper from the end of 2002. I'm not sure why I kept it, but it was interesting to see. For example, you could buy a 2 megapixel Sony digital camera with no optical zoom for $200. $350 would buy a 3.2 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom. Right now, the same store will sell you a Sony 7.2 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom for $200 or a very compact 10.1 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom and a touch-screen for $350. I was also amused by the description of a camera with 640x480 resolution that used floppy disks for storage. If you bought the camera, they'd give you 50 disks for free. Can you imagine walking around with a pocketful of floppy disks? That would be unthinkable these days. It's amazing how far technology has advanced in less than five years.
