Fic rec and other ramblings.
I haven't been doing much reading lately, with the holidays and such. But there's been one story that I thought was brilliant.
19 1/2 Dates, by Anonymous at smutty_claus. It's James/Lily, and I thought it was really clever and smart. There wasn't as much smut as I expected, but it takes place at Hogwarts, so that does make sense. I don't read a lot of James/Lily, in fact I've hardly read any, but I'm not quite sure why. I totally ship them, and like their back story in the books, but I don't really read any marauder era stories. I guess I just prefer Harry's-era. Anyway, I thought this was really great. I'm really excited to find out who wrote it.
So anyway, the holidays have been good. I've been super busy, with work and family, but I've been enjoying the festivities. Work is going surprisingly well, new-ish boss is very nice and not driving me insane, and I've been seeing more of my friends lately, which is nice, including one of my friends who is in the Marines and is home on leave. He'll be going to Iraq sometime in the next year, so it was extra nice to see him at the holidays.
And in other, odd, news, I've sorta kinda started seeing someone. It's very new and I'm a little cautious to just jump all the way in, but it's been fun. He seems to be very interested, which is just odd because it's been quite a while since I've dated, and it was like pulling teeth to get my ex to show much interest in anything. So I'm just taking it slow, and seeing where it goes. I have been smiling a lot lately though! So I suppose that's a good thing! lol :)
