Something terrible has happened to Talia.
I've been absent, and admittedly, I haven't been reading either. I suppose a game of catch up is in order. Facebook has become everything I've ever hoped for in a social networking site. Finding old friends, teachers/mentors and family. Quick posts that allow me more time for a social life. Making new friends. Games...
But the reason I came here is terribly sad, actually. I can't even post any of this on Facebook -- the place that became my sanctuary. Why?
Let me begin with this. We have two office managers. Talia, and Jess. Richard and I have befriended both of them, and they are both on our friend list. In fact, they have both been invited to Richard's graduation.
But something terrible has happened to Talia.
Imagine the most beautiful woman, inside and out -- on the planet.
Now imagine her face being cut severely by her boyfriend/fiance.
We don't know all of the details yet, so I won't presume to guess what's happened to her or how any of this transpired. What we do know is this. She was stabbed just before noon on Saturday. She had lacerations to her neck, eye, and ear. Her child (I'm guessing it was her child -- a 'female juvenile') was cut as well trying to protect her. It was her fiance, and he is now in jail for one count of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person.

She's going to be okay, apparently, but I guess she's not coming back to work.
