If we don't win this next game, I will kill you all.

If I were on first string, perhaps we'd have a bit more favorable odds.

But you're not.

So that's irrelevant.

You couldn't humor me for just a second, yeah?

I could've.

But I didn't.

And would you wanted me to have?

Perhaps not. But it would have been a nice thought if you did.

Just saying.

Okay. So I say "you should've made the team, but maybe you had an off tryout."
Not going to do you any good

My tryout was spot on anyway. Only fault was that the team's had a first-string Keeper for two years and won't be changing that until he graduates. Or is grieviously injured.

We'll see what happens.

It would be a shame if he had an.... accident.

Many people would believe so, yes. Quite a shame. Especially if both you and I were no where near him when it happened and therefore could never be blamed for such an accident. Hypothetically.

Sort out our testimonies over dinner?

Sounds well enough.

Jamie didn't bother to reply. She simply slipped on her shoes and grabbed a jacket. Miles was a gentleman, despite some other girls' unfavorable opinions. He would be polite enough to come get her at her door.

Or at least she hoped.

Miles yawned to himself, replying to another person online while finishing up an Herbology paper. Checking his email again, he realized Jamie hadn't replied to him. He raised an eyebrow at the screen.

And then he realized she wouldn't be replying.

It had been several minutes before he understood this, but once he did, he threw on his jacket and stepped out of his door. It took another ten minutes before he finally reached the Quidditch house.

"You should have at least told me you were going to assume I'd meet you."

Jamie blinked, stuffing her hands deep into the pockets of her coat. She furrowed her brow thoughtfully, and sighed.

"Well, you did, didn't you?" She said matter of factly, "So I assumed correctly."

It almost felt satisfying when she cocked her eyebrow.

"Didn't I?"

Miles raised his eyebrow in retaliation.

"Under the technicallity that you waited for nearly half an hour. I wouldn't revel in the victory quite so much."

She narrowed her green eyes ever so slightly, fighting spirit brimming over them.

"Victory none-the-less," she pointed out, "You came on your own accord."

Would he have for other girls? Or would he have let them suffer whilst waiting in their coats? Either way, Jamie felt accomplished that the distant Miles had at least taken a step towards closing the gap.

"I'll revel."
