Library Adventure vs. Tornado Adventure

I've been wanting to update my livejournal for sometime now, but i haven't had any subject matter worthy so i haven't. As you have probably guessed by the fact that you are reading a new journal- i have a new story!

Last night I went to the library to do homework. I brought my laptop along and FRIENDS season 9. My favorite place in the library is the fifth floor because not that many people are willing to climb all those stairs. Personally, I don't like the stairs either, but if thats the price for seclusion, this hermit is willing to pay. Anyways, I sat down in study cubby in the middle of a bunch of books. In order to understand the rest of my story you must understand the setting- so please bear(bare?) with me. A study cubby is like those that used to be in the math study center- where they made you take tests. its a table that is walled off in the back and sides to create a private space. At st olaf they divided each of their big tables into six, two rows of three. I sat on one side- in the middle cubby. Ok- hopefully you can picture if- if not... just keeping reading i suppose. Well I started watching FRIENDS (with headphones as not to disturb others) and doing my math worksheet. After awhile a girl that I didn't know sat at the cubby directly across from me. I can't help but laugh out loud at FRIENDS- I tried to stop myself but I never did. A little while later the girl stood up and looked over the wall separating us- I thought she was just curious why i was laughing so I gave her a guilty looking smile and returned to my homework/friends watching. Like a half an hour later I noticed that my foot was playing with something under the table. I looked down and I was playing with this girl's foot! I took my head phones off and said "oh my gosh im so sorry" and she said in an awkward voice "thats ok" and then I realized that that was why she had looked at me before- because I was playing footsie with her... that in addition with my laughing she must of thought I was either hitting on her or just crazy. I asked if I had been doing that for awhile and she said yes. I am so cool...

In other news I went home this weekend... It was fun. On friday night I saw Ross start for the cyclones- it awesome seeing Ross out there. Then on Saturday we had tornadoes... Im such an idiot. I was at David's dorm room when we saw on tv that there was a storm that had been producing tornadoes was coming our way. I wanted to go home, but David said it was nothing to worry about and tried to get me to relax. We turned off the tv and i was fine until Davids dad called and said that there was a tornado in Madrid. Something inside of my snapped and my instinct was to go home. Crying hysterically (ok i know im lame), I ran outside, into my car and started speeding home. While I was on Stange, the sirens started to go off. Afraid of what I might see, I looked up at the sky and it was green! Bad sign. This is then some demon took over me. If you have ever seen a movie when someone is screaming hysterically in fear- shaking, hitting things, scratching at their face... well that was me my friends. On Eisenhower I got stuck behind a truck going 20 mph. After honking like 10 times I just passed him and raced home- all the way being this physco crazy person. I got home and raced to my basement in order to learn that while I was driving from ISU to my house (in north ames) there was a tornado in northwest ames... man am i stupid. Should have just stayed at David's...not my proudest moment.

Well thats all folks- Only a week until Thanksgiving break!!! I can't wait to see everybody again- I have to go read sparknotes for the Bible now for my religion class...this is jamie carlyle signing off
