Ok, so I went to Washington D.C. for the anti-war march that's happening here tomorrow. I had a look round Washington this evening. Everyone says that Europe has history but I always get impressed with Washington whenever I'm here. It's not got the longevity of Europe, but it's still got some awe inspiring buildings. I'm not a big fan of the present occupant, for example, but I still get gooey eyed over the White House.
In case you think I've "gone native" since I got here, I don't just get gooey eyed about American "democratic institutions," I'm the same way about English ones too.
