Taiji Sawada, the bassist for X Japan from 1986-1992, died July 17, 2011, in a hospital in Saipan.
Arrested July 11th for causing a violent disturbance during his flight to Saipan from Narita, he attempted suicide July 14th and had been in an intensive care unit. The exact cause of death has not been specified. He was 45 years old.
