The Road Goes Ever On (And Sometimes Leads Me Back)

It feels strange to be returning to this journal after all these years ... but there you go. I've started a great number of blogs over the years - on dreamwidth, on blogger and probably on a number of other sites the names of which I can't even remember anymore. But somehow this blog, which I first started at 15, has always remained the one closest to my heart. It's the one through which I found a number of really dear friends - friends like magog_83 and a8c_sock who are there for me to this day -  and the one which logs some of the happiest times in my life. Be it the discovery of various fandoms (Merlin, Sherlock, Doctor Who, ...) or the wonderful time I spent in the UK as an au pair with my lovely host family. So, I figured what the hell - it's time to start making some new happy memories and this blog shall be my starting point :). (Yes, may the nostalgia be with me.)

And on the point of happy memories: I've also got a happy song tonight. It's "Brother" by NEEDTOBREATHE which I've been listening to for the last half hour or so and which is also making me think fondly of my friends - a feeling that will hopefully carry me through the current lockdown, which has just been extended for another ten days. Difficult times in Austria, I can tell you. But we'll get through this too.

By the way, didn't I say something about fandoms further above ...?
