Jurassic World

So, my brother and I finally saw Jurassic World today, after having said that we were going to watch it together almost a month ago ... It was surprisingly okay - bro even confessed to liking it and I have to admit Chris Pratt just looked soooooooooo attractive! I mean, how can anyone resist him:

He trains velociraptors guys ... Admit it, that's hot ;)!

There's no getting around the huge amount of insconsistencies and illogical plot points in the film, however, which prompted my brother and I to stage our very own version of CinemaSins :P! It was really quite fun, though probably less so for the people sitting next to us. Here's some of the stuff that we were wondering about:

-) If you're going to have a park with agressive, carnivorous dinosaurs and you've had a history of those dinosaurs breaking out and causing havoc ... wouldn't you have increased security around the area in the park where the hotels, visitor centre, etc. are? I mean, how's it possible that this maniac dinosaur is just able to tear through every line of security without any trouble?

-) Also, why's this thing going on a killing rampage in the first place? I mean, I get that it's been living in isolation and has gone slightly off its rocker as a result ... but why the killing urge? I mean, at what point does "Oh, they feed me every day, that's nice" turn into "MUST KILL EVERY LIVING THING ON THIS ISLAND"? Seems a bit excessive?

-) Furthermore, if the killer dino doesn't even know its own identity, because it's been living in total isolation ... how does it even recognise the raptors as members of a similar species? And how does it subsequently communicated with them ...? When did it have the chance to learn raptor language?

-) Did that flying dino get wind that Katie McGrath played a witch in another TV show and was that the reason why it dunked her in the water repeatedly? Because otherwise that sequence made no sense.

-) What's up with that T-Rex at the end? I mean, so it kills the evil dinosaur, and then it decides to leave the humans in peace, even though in previous films it was its sole mission in life to kill them? What the heck?

-) And finally ... where the hell was the point in that whole family drama about the divorce when that issue was never going to be resolved anyway? Are the boys' parents splitting up for good now? Are the boys going to be separated? What's going to happen with their family? QUESTIONS . ..!

All in all I thought this film was really enjoyable though - particularly since I had appropriately sarcastic company ;)! Did anyone else see it? What did you think?

film, jurassic world
