Disney-themed Sherlock Rec Post

Apr 09, 2012 15:43

I pretty much feel like crap today, as I have the stomach ache from hell and slept for only like three hours tonight ... which is why I thought it was time for another rec post (yes, I don't understand how my mind works either ...)! You won't even have to put up with much of my commentary today, as I'm way too exhausted for that ;). There is, however, a special treat for everybody: for this edition I thought I'd divide the video recs into a Disney-and-related-studios section and a more 'general' one. I hope everyone's going to enjoy watching the videos!

EDIT: Evidently neither rain, storm nor illness can hinder me from blabbering on until eternity ... I apologise! But I like all of these videos so much, it's difficult not to say at least a few words about them ;).

1) Disney section

A Whole New World by ChristyCullen101

The romantic song from 'Aladdin'. Very lovely - they didn't edit out the sound effects unfortunately, but I think the lyrics fit very well!

You Can't Take Me by 221BTardisImpala

From 'Spirit'. Admittedly the quality of the video is really not the best, but I thought that the scenes were so well chosen and fit the lyrics so well ... it would be a crime not to mention this vide here!

Goodbye So Soon by AcquaNeve

From 'The Great Mouse Detective'. It's obligatory, isn't it? :)

I Just Can't Wait to be King by MSEdit94

From 'The Lion King' of course, featuring James Moriarty. Very amusing and expertly made!

I'll Make a Man out of You by MonsterInside

From 'Mulan'.

I Won't Say I'm In Love by lotrfan2888

From 'Hercules'.

Reflection by ArtsyChick181

From 'Mulan' featuring Molly Hooper.

Something There by lotrfan2888

From 'Beauty and the Beast'.

Strangers Like Me by HPgeek2

From 'Tarzan'.

Sound the Bugle Now by Starrlett20

From 'Spirit'. John POV. May I just say that this song on its own already regularly makes me feel mushy - combined with John's point of view it has disastrous effects D: This video is excellent!

The World's Greatest Criminal Mind by megaloo

From 'The Great Mouse Detective'. A Moriarty video, naturally.

When She Loved Me by Deductism

From 'Toy Story 2'. Like everything by deductism this is brilliant. Really, if you're going to watch anything from this list, I absolutely recommend this video. It's a must-see! :)

2) General section

Aristotle and Averroes by KaseytheJudge

Song:  Aristotle and Averroes
Artist: Kareem Salama

The lyrics are ... weird. But the video is really very, very lovely. I absolutely recommend watching it if you like to bask in the friendship between Sherlock and John like me ;).

enchanted by Deductism

Song:  Enchanted
Artist: Owl City

friends by Deductism

Song:  I'll Be There For You
Artist: The Rembrandts

A very brilliant Sherlock opening to the theme song of Friends. Come on, how can anyone NOT love this :)?

last.friday.night by Kilia93

Song:  Last Friday Night
Artist: Glee Cast

It may seem weird to say this, but the way they edited this video actually makes all the scenes fit so well, the song really seems to suit the show perfectly! A wonderful, wonderful video evidently!

Shattered by Starrlett20

Song:  Shattered
Artist: Trading Yesterday

FEELINGS. FEELINGS! I won't lie, this is my favourite song in all the world, so of course it wouldn't be difficult to convince me of the brilliant quality of this video in any case but ... it really is wonderful all on its own as well, even if you take away the song! So you really should watch it if you feel so inclined :)!

Shattered by MultiFandomER

Song:  Shattered
Artist: Trading Yesterday

... Can I actually torture you with two videos with the same song in one rec post? Can I? Because this is really, really brilliant as well, and it's not even the same version of the song ... But watch it for yourself and see :)!

Signs by shadowfax994

Song:  Signs
Artist: Bloc Party

Your Song by WildBirdNerd

Song:   Your Song
Artist:  Ellie Goulding

Admittedly, at least editting-wise it's not the best video ever, but I still like it a lot. It's just soothing to watch and listen to, plus I really like this interpretation of 'Your Song'.
