Do not feed the Miriam

Seriously - don't. I went on a picnic today and I ate so much food I don't think I can stand to look at even a strawberry for at least the next few days. I feel STUFFED. And the weird thing is that we never actually got to have our picnic, because as soon as we got to Richmond (where we wanted to have our feast) it started raining cats and dogs. So we had to turn around and go back on the tube - which was another half hour journey - at which point we basically went "Sod it!" and we had our picnic on the underground. Which is an interesting experience in itself, but was a bad, bad idea for my tummy - there was just too much delicious food that was passed around! And in my frustration about the weather I just kept on eating! I feel like a balloon now ...

Thankfully the rain stopped about an hour later, so we could at least walk around London for a bit - which was a lot of fun! We went to the Twinings tea shop, took one of the really old buses to Trafalgar Square (the ones that are open at the back - I love them!) and then climbed one of the lions in the square! That was really funny as well! Granted it was a bit scary too, but I wanted to be brave for once in my life :). I was the first one to climb on its back and even though you wouldn't believe it from the ground it's actually REALLY hard to get on top! Because the surface is really smooth I couldn't get a grip, so the other girls had to push me from behind - NOT an easy task :)! At one point they just basically gave one big push and I ended up almost flying on top :) - scaaary moment! But what a nice view of Trafalgar Square :)! Actually, one of the girls even suggested that I climb up to shake hands with Admiral Nelson as well, but I said that I didn't feel worthy enough for that :)!

And to finish the day off I'm now on babysitting duty, watching the X-Factor with the kids. I do love my life :).

(P.S.: What is THIS? An lj like??? Please lj don't turn into fb :(! I do not have a need for a button like this!)
