The first leg of my road trip.
Alright. So, on Tuesday July 8th, 2008, I left Hawaii. I still can't even think about being away from paradise. I'm watching Point Break right now, and when they mentioned Waimea I could have cried. Oh, man. And it's only been two days. I'm going back soon. I have to. I can't surf right now anyway - new tattoo and whatnot. I need a month off - right?
California isn't so bad, aside from the horrible shadow cast across it by not being Hawaii, =P. They've got Ono Sushi. That's one hell of a plus. Oh, man. It was gooooooood. I've never had better tuna. Mmmmmmm. Then tomorrow it's beaching and shopping. We were only going to be here for a day, but, we have to wait for a tunneau cover for Haley's truck before we continue on. She also decided that we'd stop in Vegas on our way to Utah. I mean, why not??? Then we'll spend a day or two in Salt Lake City. I wish we could see Canyonlands National Park - but, it's way out of the way.
After Utah the plan is that we'll drive by Devil's Tower, Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills on the way to Watertown where we'll be staying with my Mother and my sister for a few nights. I can't wait to see them! I miss my sister so much, I haven't seen her or my neice in so long. I can't even imagine how big Savanna is. Oh, man, it's going to be great. I miss them so much!!!
The trip to Michigan after South Dakota should be a pretty straight shot. Haley is trying to get there by next weekend for the memorial softball tournament for her brother Billy. Then I'm going to be taking a bus to Brooklyn to see Derek in the hospital. I don't know how that's going to be, I just know I need to go see him. I need to hold his hand. I miss him so much.
Then it's back to Michigan for a few weeks and the same trip backwards to Cali again. Then I'll go back to Texas for a at least a few weeks. All the while trying to find out how to get back to Hawaii.
Wish me luck, guys. It's going to be one hell of a summer.
