Here is how it goes:
1. Comment telling me you want a letter.
2. I reply and give you a letter.
3. Choose five fictional characters and post in your journal, explaining what you like/dislike/other thoughts about them.
askerian gave me the letter U. U. Thank god for japanese family names. I'm sad that I don't have more fandoms represented, but U isn't a terribly popular letter.
Urameshi Yusuke: That's one of the old characters I can never stop liking and go back to reading often. I like the rebel-on-the-good-side personality, am amused with the stupidity...the list could go on, but I just enjoy the character.
Umino Iruka: I honestly can't say how it happened that I like him, apart from the fact that it's largely thanks to fandom. He's not my favorite character, but I do enjoy his temper. His role in Naruto's life is interesting too; how he's very present at first, and then slowly fades out as Naruto grows and matures and becomes strong.
Uzumaki Naruto: He used to annoy me, when I began reading Naruto back at its beginning. He grew on me, though, and now I think he should kick Sasuke a good one and make him stop being so stupid, and then proceed to become Hokage.
Urahara Kisuke: *hearts* I like crazy people. He's on the strong end of sanity but still manages to be a little loose up there, and his whole personality is really interesting. That, and his half-hinted-at past and involvement with Soul Society. We don't see nearly enough of him!
Uryu Ishida: He's one I definitely feel blank about. I never managed to get into the whole Quincy tragedy. He can be a fun comic relief sometimes and his fights are generally interesting, but that's about it for me.
