Concerning Christmas break

So I got a few good responses on my last post which really wasn't anything special by reply, MSN, and phone, along with a demand that I post tonight. Well Mike, Chris, and Tara, here's another one for you to read and enjoy! As I said last week, I will discuss Christmas break.

Considering how "enjoyable" the last few Christmases were with 2-3 weeks with my family, I decided I'd stay at my parent's place for minimal time. I figured 5 days would be safe, and it was. I was planning only staying 4, but bringing CJ with me caused me to change those plans. After work on the Saturday before Christmas I went home, packed up my clothes and CJ, and went down to Lower Coverdale. At first, CJ was timid around my family and hid under my bed for several hours. Eventually he warmed up very well to my family, especially my dad, but it took him a while to get used to my mom (yes, I know what those of you who have met my mom are thinking). I was just going to bring my stuff with me after church Sunday, but there was nothing I could do with CJ, as I wouldn't want to leave him in a strange place by himself.

Christmas was pretty good, I didn't get anything real exciting, just a bunch of chocolate, some puzzle books, Pirates 3 DVD, a Sudoku handheld game, and a $20 Walmart gift certificate that I haven't used yet. CJ got quite a bit of exciting stuff too including toys, treats, a tent, and mat to sleep on. He quite enjoyed his new gifts! As is tradition, Christmas evening was spent at my paternal grandparents for a Christmas feast, and the celebration of my great-grandmother's 98th birthday! This year, my dad's family was the only one of the 4 siblings to come (usually 3 families will come, as the other lives near Ottawa).

Then I went home Wednesday afternoon to spend almost a week with no one else in the house but Laurie. Meanwhile CJ was able to warm up a lot more to Laurie, so much that when I was gone all New Year's Eve night, he hung out with him. My New Year's Eve was, for the first time, not spent alone. A bunch of kids from our youth group had a party that I was invited to, and I got to play an interesting golf game on XBox 360 where you actually wore gloves with strings attatched to the console and swung a club, and the way the strings were pulled, the game understood how hard you swung. That was pretty cool.

Really not much exciting has happened since. Just going to work and school and stuff. And Mike is here and wanting to play around with buttons on the sound board, but at least he gives me company. But soon I'm moving into the Hirtle's apartment the week of Feb. 11th. Ok, well that's all I have to say for now I guess. So until next time, this is JamesyWamesy signing off.

work, school, me, ramble
