Employed!

So my last post was about how I need to get a job. Well I have one now. For the first time ever, two places to which I applied accepted me! ValueVillage got back to me Thursday morning at 10 (just 20 hours after dropping off the application) saying I could start Friday at 1:00, and Sobeys called me that evening asking me to come in for an interview at 10:00 on Friday. I was hired on the spot. So I was faced with a decision... I don't think I really had a preference on the jobs themselves, either lugging clothing around at ValueVillage or scanning and lugging groceries at Sobeys. I have friends at both locations: Shannon and Bethany at ValueVillage and my brother Matthew at Sobeys. So it would depend on wage and hours. ValueVillage didn't give me a specific number of hours, but it seems like they were saying it would be about 20 at maximum. Sobeys is promising 24 at minimum. If I didn't already have the soundbooth job which occupies one night and one morning of my time I would take the higher hour job no question, but it might get busy come term paper time (ie. this and next week... ya I should get at those soon...). However the significant difference in wages, about half a dollar an hour different made the decision for me. Sobeys is my new employer. I started last night with 3 hours of orientation and I'm to call tomorrow to find out when I can start training at the NorthWest Centre Sobeys where I will work until the new Highfield Square Sobeys opens on December 16.

Oh I just remembered, midterm marks are in... I'm going to go check my mailbox... SWEET! I got an A- in both classes! Well we'll see how those last after I procrastinate my way through their term papers. :P Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. Until next time, this is JamesyWamesy signing off!
