Well, I've been reading a-lot of stuff tonight. I read a little in "Hegemony or Survival" again, I checked out this site, and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't know that such a creature existed. you didn't upset me at all. i was just trying to state a point.

i think what you're going for though is a socialist/communistic economy/society. the reason we have jobs that yield different salaries is because we run on capitalism. which basically, when you get through the hum-ho and theories of other government ideologies is that its all the same. some are just more openly greedy about it. some are more, well...we'll say sly.
and i'm not saying that one is better than the other.
communism looks fabulous on paper. but no one has been able to really, effectively make it work.

i'm getting away from myself. the point is, i don't think that a country that has run on capitalism for its entire life will ever be able to change entirely. i do think some things can be done about education reform (to give everyone a possibility at a fair and equal higher education beyond grade 12) maybe not to the extent of everyone having the chance at being a doctor, but at least to a BA degree.
a lot of countries, france for example, have fabulous educational systems. by the entry to high school students must take a test to determine their educational abilities. from there they are either sent to university or to trade school. their educational system has been run this way for a long time now and they seem to be running smoothly as a society. in other words, some people are just predisposed to learning certain things, and others aren't.

i think this delima is a philosophic one. i think it will take hundreds of years with the right persons to make it work.
