Don't choose your own number (non-GV number) -- you can always link your cell phone later. I didn't know what I was doing and I didn't know there were more than a couple of features because my boyfriend only tested voicemail.

Already got GV and chose a number from that. But I've only linked my cel and not really used the thing at all yet :/
