He breathed in deep, the sweep of the ocean's breezes dashing across his cheeks and the sun beating down on his head, lightening his already blonder hair. A grin flashed over his face at this, and he hugged the boogieboard at his side a little tighter as he walked down from the house and towards the shore.

Something sleek caught his eye, and he slowed his walk to appreciatively admire the swimming form of James Wilson. He had seen the man come wet and tempting out of the shower more times than he could count ...but coming straight out of the ocean like some fantastic merman?

Christ, no wonder sailors kept getting lured to their deaths. Female and male versions alike would get any man rushing off to the deeps.

He grinned as he approached, making sure to attatch the board firmly to his wrist, before heading right into the water. He had gone with dark blue swim trunks - long and trim on his hips to cut down sandburn from surfing, and his chest and shoulders already showed the first hints of a tan that would be well settled by the end of the day. Chase never burned - he turned delightfully golden all over.

Paddling out, he called over the roar of the ocean, "I trust someone hasn't been swimming directly after eating."

It was a well-known fact that Robert Chase filled out a sports coat in ways that made both women and men turn around and look twice…sometimes three times. Getting the chance to see those shoulders bared, kissed by the sun and glistening with seawater combined with the long sleek lines of well muscled legs, it really was a fucking wonder that Wilson didn’t get himself knocked into the surf by the wave which careened past.

Mmmm…kay as long as he didn’t have to get out of the water any time soon, the clinging state of his bathing trunks wouldn’t be a problem.

Wilson knew he was supposed to support the push to cut down on sun worshiping -skin cancer and all that- but honestly, Chase looked good with a touch of sun on his skin. It was already streaking blonde hair, and the color looked healthy on the Australian, making those cerulean blue eyes twinkle and shine.
Yes, even though Wilson had to roll himself head to toe in SPF 100+, Chase definitely looked good with the tan.

As another wave tried to crash over his head the older man shook himself out of his lustful contemplation of the young man joining him in the water and he grinned with vibrant playfulness.

“I’m feeling daring, lover mine! I came in here with a whole banana in me.”

Looking back at the waves, he turned towards Chase and arched a brow.

“Bet I can body surf in further than you can boogie board it.” Dark damp brows wiggled challengingly.

"You rebel." Chase grinned, pushing his now wet hair back off his forehead. He looked down the long shore, then back at his lover with a wiggle of the eyebrows. "What's the wager then? Because I will so own you, lover."

Wilson snorted and bounced up to float over a wave. Dark hair was plastered across his forehead and along his temples, short enough that it wasn't quite blinding him as he bobbed like a pale cork thoughtfully.

"Hmmmm...what would be a good wager. Okay well... we already know we're having sex in the hot tub so...can't wager you that...can't wager you sex in all the rooms either...since we're almost completed that project."

Tapping a damp lip with a long finger he grinned impishly and set his hands on his trim hips.

"Okay, we'll go with the tried but true. You win and I cook you breakfast in bed tomorrow morning."

Since he knew how much Chase enjoyed snoozing in when he had the chance.

"...Doctor Wilson, I do believe you have a wager. And by the way, I like fresh strawberries with my waffles." Chase grinned, paddling into position.

"Shall we go on the count of three? Best man to the shore wins."

"And I like honey on my grits." Wilson returned with a mock hint of primness before he moved a little ways down from Chase so that they wouldn't run into each other.

Behind them, as if cued up, a solid sized wave began to swell.

"I don't think you have time to count!"

Shouted over before Wilson gave one last look over his shoulder and then pushed forward with the current, long arms stretching out with strong strokes to help him catch the wave perfectly!

Chase let out a breath, breathing in the salty sweetness of the water, feeling out the wave as it came. He was born in water like this - summers spent surfing some of the best waves in the world.

His arms started pumping a moment later, sliding his body into the curve of the swell itself.

Wilson knew within a breath that he'd managed to catch the wave just right. The way the water undulated around his body, carrying him forward with the power and thrust of the moon driven ocean was perfect, he'd have no one to blame but himself if he lost to Chase.

Body surfing was the best, as far as Wilson was concerned. You could feel yourself sail down step by step as the water raced towards the shoreline, the closest thing to flying short of jumping out of an areoplane.

Keeping himself stretched out like a flat board, Wilson rode the wave in until he felt the rough kiss of sand along the front of his bare chest and across the top of his thighs, then he curled up and rolled the rest of the way up onto the beach. Sitting there, covered in sand and salt water, the older man brushed off his face and looked around to see how Chase was handling the boogie board.

The wave caught him just right under the edge and pulled him along with it as it went rushing towards the shore. He let out a hoot of laughter as he came crashing down with it, he and his board sliding along the sand's edge until he fell off, splashing in the shallows.

He laughed again, shaking his head like a dog as he looked up to find Wilson looking at him. One eyebrow quirked and he grinned, "I wasn't paying attention - who won?"

Chase's laughter really was infectious as hell and Wilson felt himself laughing brightly in response even as he sat there, ass sinking into the sand as the waves washed over his legs.

"Like you even need to ask, my beloved bratlet. You win... and you'll be lucky if I don't stick a strawberry up your nose!"

It was all light and playful, dark eyes sparkling with relaxed good humor and most off all a soul deep happiness which was impossible to fake.

With a splash of water, Wilson was suddenly getting up to his feet and brushing himself off and heading back into the churning surf.

"Okay... round two...this time we play for who gets to drive the Wrangler on the beach!"
