Last night was incredible. Kat and i went contra dancing, which has quickly become my favorite form of dance. For those of you who do not know what contra is, think semi square dance, semi folk dance, and very very gypsy. It is increible. And as Kat explained it it one of two things, it is either very laid back and fun, or it is very sultry, romantic and somewhat sexual. Last night had moments of both. There is a movement in contra called a balance and spin in which you take hands facing your partner, do s step heel in and a step heel out then immediatly pull close together like you are waltzing but you spin very quickly together. When this happens the girls have a tendancy to lock eyes with you, and everything disappears but their eyes, its incredible. We dance for close to five hours straight without stopping. Ive never experienced anything like it.
