Interviewing for Motorola Part 1

Dec 23, 2005 09:53

I attended this little ol' job fair in Anaheim called HENAAC, where I submitted my resume and talked to recruiters at about 30 companies. I got some really strong responses from a bunch of companies. A guy with the civilian Army Research Labratory (ARL) said I had the best resume he'd seen all day and he'd give me a call on Monday. The recruiter from IBM said I had exactly what they were looking for and to expect a call. I was even given an invite to a Texas Instruments post-fair dinner, which I attended with about 15 other people. I don't even remember speaking to the recruiter from Motorola, I think I dropped off my resume in the last minute rush to give out resumes as the fair closed.

Go figure, IBM, ARL, TI, etc. never went anywhere - and yes, I did follow up calls. A month after the job fair, out of the blue I get an e-mail from Motorola which went something like: We're very interested in you, and we'd like to fly you out to our Mobile Devices division in Chicago for a day of interviews. Totally unexpected.
