TO On The Ides of March

I subbed at the same school again today [which we willnow refer to as "School Q," cause you don't get enough Q's, you know?]. I'm not complaining because believe me when I say that I enjoy working and having purpose come back into my life, however fleeting it may be. But I really, REALLY loathe this day-to-day shit. You generally don't find out until like an hour or so before that you are needed to work and quite frankly, I hate it. I just absolutely HATE it. Not to mention that I feel more and more like a glorified babysitter, cause NO ONE leaves you real lesson plans or anything. It's all just, "Finish what you're working on..."I don't understand how people can live like this---and enjoy it! I make barely any money and if it weren't for my UC [which is about to end at the end of the month] I wouldn't know what to do.

Today's "lessons" just rubbed me the wrong way---I walked back and forth fromt he classroom to the library all day as every class was researching something or other. [Oh, I was in for English, by the way.] This is the only thing worse than babysitting in a regular classroom. Here they have more "freedom" to screw around. And another downer is that because we're in the library, I couldn't have my tea with me. I absolutely need my tea with me in the morning; I gotta have my fix. Actually, I just get dehydrated easily.

Enough bitching though. As I said, I am happy to be working at least. But like I said it's fleeting. And, obviously, won't carryme through to the summer months. So, I applied at Borders. Hopefully, soemthign will come of that. Especially since now I won't have my UC to see me through until September when schools start again.

I'm proud to say that I've been very good with my purchases so far this year. There is very little I bought that I don't actually need (pants), have wanted for sometime (ie: my Faire tickets), or gifts for others. I picked a good time to buy the Faire pass and 'Fling tickets for they were on special, like a whole two dollars cheaper, and every little bit counts, right? And sicne this is my primary entertainment in an otherwise dreary year ahead of me, I allowed myself to splurge. And, in the end, it's cheaper this way, anyway.

However, very shortly, I am about to be hit with my car insurance quarterly immediately followed by INSPECTION and registration and all that goes along with it (new tires are definitely on the list; mine are a 2/32 and I think you need a 5/32 to pass inspection---anyone know a good, cheap place to buy them?). And then, of course, begins the birthday season: Melissa, Natalia, Sal, Mom, Hope, Mandy, Michael, Erin, Halle, Tim, John, Mom and Dad's anniversary, and THEN my birthday. October gives me a bit of a break, but it's once again car insurance quarterly month, so not really [sighs]. Money sucks.

But you know what didn't suck? The TARTAN TERRRORS concert on Saturday! I was bummed to realize that neither Sean or Spencer were there, but was placated slightly when I saw Steve Sinnicks's tushie! *halo* Seriously though, the whole night was awesome! I arrived early with Michael and Dolores, we wandered a bit, investigated the Pub, and then ran into Mark & Kim. Shortly thereafter we were joined by John, Tim, and Val---nice to have met you; I'm friending you by the way---and we tucked ourselves into a nice meal at Molly McGuire's. I belive fun was had all around as discussion ranged from the Terrors, to Faire, to Michael wanting to kill Dolores and me, to Drawn Together and John complaining that he didn't want to be Xandir in a very Xandir-esque way. *wink* [I lessthanthree you John!] Then we walked up the hill to the Opera house and waited in the cold for like an hour and a half while picking on John---you do realize we did it solely BECAUSE Val was there, right?---and singing and annoying citizens of Jim Thorpe.

Then Steve Sinnicks came and I squealed like the ridiculous fangirl that I am, and eventually we were let inside.

I'd have to say they didn't have their usual GUSTO, but they'd rock my socks while comatose and wearing snowsuits. I think their storyline would have made more sense if the missing members were there, but it was cool just the same. I loved Steve Sinnicks's new song (at least it was new to my ears) and Todd's new "Shakespearian Actor" bit. It was certainly enough to satisfy my Terrors craving until I can see them again in another three months and a fortnight.

And I cannot wait for the Murder Mystery, Dolores! I don't know how I could possibly top that for a half-birthday celebration. Thanks so much to you and Michael and everyone else who helped in stealth planning of the event! You all RAWK.

ETA: Welcome to the madness, Kim!
