Providing I don't just give in and kill myself (why will wait until tomorrow, maybe), I've been trying to make a list of books, stories, and whatnot that would fit either in the same subgenre of sf as Vance's The Dying Earth stories or humanity on Earth near the end of the system for reasons.
We have Vance's stories, of course, and Clark Ashton Smith's Zothique. There is a Severian novels of Gene Wolfe and Neil Gaiman has a short story titled "Webs" that fits, as well as a page or two sequence in Books of Magic. There is The House on the Borderlands by Wm Hope Hodgeson and Greg Bear's tribute that I can't be arsed to look up right now. Michael Moorcock has his Dancers at the End of Time trilogy and Chip Delany has The Einstein Intersection.
Can anyone think of any other examples of this subgenre?
