So behold an update...
So since today is St Patrick's Day and as a recovering Catholic and since I have an Irish surname, I feel it is my civic duty to rant. Ok, so what the fuck, why is a Catholic Saint's holiday all about drinking and plastic green hats. In fact what is it about almost every national holiday being more about the alcohol consumption than the actual event. July 4th, Cinco de Mayo, and countless other holidays. While some traditional holidays (Halloween and Christmas) has been secularized the secular celebration of Saint Patrick's Day is based on negative stereotypes, ignorance, and cheap decor. There are many things wrong with the holiday celebration that I will not go into about but needless to say they exist. So if you think you belive being Irish is all about drinking then to me it's the same as saying any number of stereotypes about African Americans.

Anyhow ranting aside Michelle and I tried to go the the Irish pub today for a nice pub meal, and well our brave heroes were defeated by the deadly duo of time and hunger so we went for Italian.
So i don't have to work tomorrow so methinks I will catch V for Vendetta or another film. I also recently obtained Good Night and Good luck and History of Violence on DVD. Just more proof of how much cooler I am that you.
