HBO and the team behind Rome are making a TV pilot of A Song of Ice and Fire, my current top fantasy series. There'll be one series per book, slightly worrying for a 7-book series of which only 4 have been published (though the 5th should hopefully be out next year). It ought to be fun anyway; for a fantasy series it's fairly light on the Big Expensive Things (most of the battles are described rather peripherally, and most of the monsters are the human kind), so the money will be able to go on creating the world. It's to get the equivalent of an "R" rating as well, so they'll be able to put in the buckets of blood that the subject material demands.

Now, let's hope they don't cast Warwick bloody Davies as Tyrion.

In other news, I have a new mouse to replace the cranky 6 year old one that finally broke down last night. It's AWESOME.
